Contractual Arrangements

United Salvage operates in accordance with:

• The International Salvage Convention 1989
  
• Guidelines contained in approved international emergency response codes
  
• Australia's National Oil Spill Plan
  
• The environmental protection policies of the Australian Federal and State Governments
  
• The UK's National Contingency Plan
  
• The environmental protection policies of the UK Government

United Salvage operates on Lloyds Open Form as well as internationally recognised commercial contracts between the company, the vessel's owner/operator and/or the vessel's insurance company.

In the case of oil spills or other instances of threatening pollutants, contract provisions may include special compensatory payments to United Salvage for a fast and effective response which will minimise the environmental impact of an incident.
