14,406 grt ro-ro ferry, began flooding into car deck and
listing heavily following collision with river jetty. Damage
control services prevented sinking. Temporary repairs made,
ship pumped out and redelivered in Immingham.

6,404 dwt tanker ran aground in River Thames following power
failure. Refloated.
ASIAN GRACE | July 2002
55,680 grt laden car carrier ran aground in River Thames
following steering failure. Refloated and escorted/towed
to Tilbury.

Located and recovered after ditching into the see off UK
east coast.
URTE | September 2002
2,908 dwt general cargo vessel loaded with scrap metal ran
aground at apex of rivers Humber and Trent. Crew abandoned
when engine room commenced flooding. Refloated and towed
to Hull for repairs.
HEMO | October 2002
2,570 dwt vessel loaded with timber broke away from its
berth in River Trent due to local tide bore. Ran aground
and developed heavy list. Refloated and towed to Hull.
BOTHNIA STONE | October 2002
22,046 dwt vessel loaded with timber suffered cargo shift
and developed heavy list in bad weather in English Channel.
Escorted into Torbay where remaining deck cargo was jettisoned
and list corrected.
SIXTUS | November 2002
3,203 dwt chemical tanker suffered main engine failure in
bad weather in English Channel. Towed into Falmouth.
CORNELIA | November 2002
6,053 grt dredger ran aground in approaches to Harwich Haven
following power failure. Refloated and towed to safe anchorage.

Small World War I wreck in Thames Estuary was dispersed
as part of the channel deepening project.
